In the spring of 2012, the Kings Mountain Elementary School Site Council received from the KMES Staff, a request for professional development.  This professional development was to specifically address writing in grades K – 5 as outlined in the Common Core.  The SSC voted unanimiously to request the funds from Kings Mountain Associated Parents (KMAP) to hire Knox Education.  This site is documentation of our journey: community, parents, staff and students working together so all students can reach their personal goals.
